Hi everyone I figured this would be a good place to get advice I remember reading some of the more colorful Roor Vs. Illadelph threads in the past and although they were full of debate they actually helped me learn alot.

I figure though I would explain my unique situation and ask the advice of experienced bong smokers. Right now I'm in a position where my hands are up in the air and Im planning to spend 500 dollars to have a custom bong blown.

Now the first thing I would like to ask if how you all feel about local blown glass "From an art school graduate who owns a glass studio" compared to the Illadelphs and Roors. Im curious as to quality smoothness of the hit if that even makes sense and any other possible details you would be willing to throw me to compare the two. Granted quality varies between the blower ofcourse but my main goal is to get firsthand accounts of the difference between these industry leading bongs and what at least I hope will be a good custom blown piece.

My next question is in regards to those of you that may even have experience with getting custom work done. The person Im going through right now has an arrangement worked out where Im going to put down 500 on the bong itself. After doing the math they told me how the costs factor in and they said that would buy 8 hours studio time and materials. Im wondering if thats a good deal.

Yes I realize 500 is alot for a piece.. However I have been wanting to get a top of the line piece for almost a year now and I figure its time to get it done. Anyone who has advice of getting custom work like that done not to mention glass blowing experience I would be greatly appreciative if you could offer me any advice

Believe it or not in my experience the glass blowing/headshop community has a VERY bad attitude where I live and my freinds dont share my passion for glass work so this is pretty much my last stop before I move forward
