I'm a new toker, just started 2 months ago and it's pretty fun. At the moment I have a pretty good glass pipe that I am happy with, the thing with it is that it gives harsh hits and most dry pieces do. I usually use pipes and zig zags, never used a bong or a bubbler and I was wondering which would be better for me. I need to hide all my pieces so I need it to be somewhat small. I have read that bubblers are better for transportation and bongs are better for in your room. If I am going out I would take my pipe or zig zags with me because they are just more convenient. What I really want is just something that would give me a really smooth hit, not burn my throat like my pipe does and easily concealable. I would have to hide it in my Xbox 360 box where I keep all my other things (pipe, lighter, paper, herb, etc.). I saw some mini bongs and mini bubblers, and as far as I have read a bubbler is like a pipe but it has water in it and it is smoother, and a bong is sort of the same but it gets you higher. What I would do with either a bong or a bubbler is just go into my backyard and smoke with it (big backyard with places you cannot see people from the house), I also cannot pay too much so I was wondering how much a good mini bong or mini bubbler would be. I can spend about $50 on one. So which would be better, a bong or a bubbler for me? So here is a quick rundown of what I need it to be:

$50 or less
Will get me higher with a smaller amount of herb
Small
Concealable (so I can walk out of the house without people seeing me carrying a bong out)
Smooth-hitting

Edit: I can spend more if it means it will last a long time

How old are you? If you're over the age of 18 what you want to do is visit your local head shop. Look at all their bubblers and bongs, and pick one out that you think would work best for you.

If this is unavaiable to you then we move to the internet. Find a good reliable website by using the search feature. For example, GrassCity. They have a pretty large water pipe (bongs/bubblers) selection on their website, just make sure you pay attention to all the specifications, because a lot of bongs on their look different in size in real life, it can fool you pretty easily.

Hey rich, I appreciate the help. No I am not over the age of 18 but the local head shops owner does not mind selling to younger people (I'm 15), and I would order online but the thing is that if I somehow find a way to pay it will come to my door step as a smoking device, and my parents do not know about this yet.

What do you think would be better, a bubbler, or a mini bong for my needs.

Most websites that sells pipes and waterpipes send out their products in discrete packages, meaning people can't tell what's inside of it and doesn't say anything suspicious on it. Like when I ordered mine from grasscity, it was just a brown box, didn't even say grasscity on it.

You're parents won't know what it is unless they open it. I didn't have to sign for my box either so you may not have to also.

To answer your last question, it's all about preference. Either way the weed is being smoked, just depends on what you want it to be smoked through. You obviously stated that you need something small, so go through the selection picking out small ones that you would like, then out of the small ones pick out which one you would like the best. If I were to make this decision for you i'd say to go with a mini bong. But like I said, it's all about personal prefence and on what YOU want.

i'd say go with a bubbler if you need to hide it. im 16, but my headshop has never id'd me either.
if you're trying to be discreet, i'd go with a vaporgenie. you can just go to a walmart or something and buy a money order, send it to vaporgenie's factory, and they send it to you in a discreet package. that's what i did. plus, you dont have to worry about any weed smell

Alright, so I've decided that I want a mini bong. The only thing is if someone else sees it other than myself they will want to know what it is (they will see a large brown box). But I've narrowed it down to a few bongs, they are very inexpensive and seem like they would be good for me, but I am not sure which of these would be the best.

Out of any of those, go with the 2nd or 3rd one, I think 3rd one would be best.

On the 3rd one it must be a glare or something in the picture, if not then definitely a carb, but I don't see hwy it would be when that down stem can be pulled... odd.

Yeah, I mistook what it was. So that would be a bong with a slide then? Now the only problem is trying to get that sucker out of the house. Though I could keep it in the garage. Well, I guess I'll be ordering the bong very soon then! I just have to measure my stash box and make sure it will fit. Thanks for the help!

Alright, I'll do a search for that when I come back home. I am going to be ordering the bong tomorrow hopefully, I just need to go out and get a mastercard giftcard, load it up, and my friend (has his own place) said that I can use his shipping information and he'll bring it to my house when he gets it.
