Hey all,

So I did a bit of searching and no one has asked this, if I used a bong will it smell less inside the house? I would blow the smoke out of the window in my room if I were to smoke in my room. So would it make my room really smelly since I noticed the bong didn't smell as bad as my pipe? I know it's not really a good idea but I like toking at night or in privacy, not always having to go to my backyard to smoke. Sorry for this noobish question.

Well, it depends. The smoke'll stay inside the chamber, so if you take a rip, then blow it out the window, you should be fine. Just make sure not to accidently cough haha and then you would end up blowing smoke all over the place.

I'd say, don't take the risk. Smoking in the backyard is better than getting found out and having your shit confiscated :x

But, my past experiences have shown that joints are a lot smellier than bongs, cause joints constantly burn whereas bongs don't burn that much.

As long as you empty the water when your done, keep it clean, and load single hits at a time to limit side stream smoke, it is a lot less stinky. Dirty bongs a non smoker can smell a mile a way though. Bongs can be pretty noisy though, both from the loud slurp when you clear the chamber and the possible coughing attack if you go to far.

I take a little at a time. So like 1,2 maybe 3 hit bowls at a time. I would use it late at night because my parents can hear the alarm when I open the door to get outside (any door). So do you think I would be okay? I will clean my slide each time and I'll empty the water but is that it? Smoke coming from the bowl won't smell too much or should I use the coin trick?

My mom seems to be the same way your parents are. I used to be a heavy pot smoker, and I would toke up every night in my room. If your parents are asleep you should have no problem toking from a bong in your room. Open the window, and put a towel/blanket at the bottom of your door and you should be all set.

I would think that if you took controlled hits from your bong (only filling the chamber up enough so that you can clear it in one shot) then blew it out the window you''d be golden. however there is still some residual smoke that comes off of the bowl head (a marble works nice to stomp the cherry out though.

T0K3N00B, if you take all the right precautions then you can easily get away with smoking in your room and having minimal smell.

Lets go over a list of things that help your situation.

First your going to want to make and use a "Spoof Tube" (or "sploof"). You will be using this to blow your smoke into.
You also might want to put a damp towel in the crack of the door, although this isn't necessary since the spoof tube will mask the smell, but you still don't want any excess smoke or smell leaking out.
Always check to make sure that when blowing hits out the window, it doesn't come through another window in your house. So check that either your smoke blows away from your house, or that neighboring windows to yours are shut.
After you light the bowl and pull it out to clear it, put it right back in the down stem and cover it with your hand or something else so the cherry doesn't put off fresh ganja smell. (or if your bong uses are carb, either way just cover that bowl when your done with it!)
Lastly, your spray. I use Febreeze, it's amazing. It pretty much eliminates the whole smell, it is awesome. People use axe and other body sprays, but IMO they don't work for shit.

Yeah, I've seen those how to smoke inside threads saying that you need a sploof, I used to do that in my bathroom with cigarettes (don't smoke them anymore) it's just that my pipe smells like crap, joints smell like crap and this is my first time using a bong so I was just wondering if it would have the same smell and if I needed to take any precuations, but it seems like smoking in my room should be easy!

When I still lived with my parents I would take crazy risks. I only got caught once though (I smoked an entire blunt in my bathroom, they were right outside). I once smoked an entire 79mm joint in my room with the door closed and my ceiling fan off. The only protection was a shirt stuffed under the door. If you don't want to get caught then just be quiet when you're smoking, and wake up early and spray axe or something in your room (not too much).
Bongs are great, just very hard to hide whereas a pipe can tuck away just about anywhere. Also the water can be a major pain to deal with discreetly.

my mom knows i smoke weed but when i dont want her to know im smoking (say like when she's pissed) and she's home i use my homemade bong id say its easier to hide (cuz it just looks like a glass bottle) and when i smoke thru it u get a smell but my mom cud never figure out what it was lol she cudnt even describe it lol and well if u want u cud blow that out the window as well and u shud be safe there dude

Yeah I finished smoking in my bathroom a little while ago It made no smell at all, perfect! Going to be doing that more often.
