Everytime I put herb into the bowl, it alwasy breaks up after a bit, and gets sucked into the bong, and gets destroyed in the water, how can I prevent this from happening? Am I sucking too hard? or is there something i'm doing wrong. Tips/advice would be appriciated, oh yeh, i am a newbie.

how can i make a screen?

well if you really want to make one you could spend hours crafting brass threads into a screen
-OR-
you could go buy some from your local headshop
-OR-
you could use the screen thats under your faucet, those work too but who knows what theyre made out of

your best bet is to just go buy some, you can get like a half dozen for a buck, theyre not expensive at all

Get some sour cream and onion chips with some dip, man, some beef jerky, some peanut butter. Get some Haagen-Dasz ice cream bars, a whole lot, make sure chocolate, gotta have chocolate, man. Some popcorn, red popcorn, graham crackers, graham crackers with marshmallows, the little marshmallows and little chocolate bars and we can make s'mores, man. Also, celery, grape jelly, Cap'n Crunch with the little Crunch berries, pizzas. We need two big pizzas, man, everything on 'em, with water, whole lotta water, and Funyons.

how much do you cut it up? if its too fine that could be why
how hard do you suck? what i like to do is nice slow and steady at the start till it has turned to ash, then i pull it into the water.

if you cant buy a screen and u really need to try making one out of some staples
i did that once. i only screens for resin though cos it melts and just drips throgh.

I went to home depot and bought one of the little fixtures with the screen that goes under your sink. It had two little round screens which were made of brass and worked perfectly for my needs. I just threw away the little plastic pieces that came with it. It cost like $1.25

oh and with screens for faucets always remember to fashion some sort of tongs outta a paper clip or something, hold the screen and burn the chemical water protection **** off of it
