I just got my first water pipe a few weeks ago, noone really told me how to use it right so we kinda figured it out by ourselves with my friends (not that it's rocket science...), so we put in some weed in the bowl, we hold the little hole on the bowl closed with our finger and inhale in, the thing that ends up in my mouth is nasty smoke with no thc in it...so we inhale that and blow it out and then inhale the smoke thats in the pipe and that one doesnt sting and gets us high...

Is this how you do it or are we just stupid and missed something? lol, sorry for being so ignorant...

Im not really sure what youre talking about, but i think the hole youre referring to is the carb. What it does is when you hold the carb shut, youre getting pure smoke. When you take your finger off of it, it lets in air with your hit, so thats why it doesnt burn your throat. Trust me, if youre holding the carb shut and smoke is getting in your lungs, its getting you high. Also, dont worry about bein new to it. We all were once.

thanks for the reply, yeah, I am talking about the carb, now I know what its called...lol...

so when I smoke next time, when I light up the bowl with my weed in it, I should hold the carb closed with my finger right? Do I ever let go of the carb or should I keep it closed the whole time I'm inhaling? I'm so confused, the high was crazy though so we must have done it right, we couldn't even talk we were just cracking up, I was saying the stupidest ****...

Higher Logic

1) Put cannabis in bowl.
2) Hold finger on carb.
3) Put mouth on end of pipe.
4) Light bowl.
5) Suck in.
6) Let go of carb.
7) Inhale.
8) Repeat.

The carb's just there so you can cover it to get pure (er) smoke, and take your finger off to clear it so the smoke doesn't get stale.

ok, thanks everybody for replies, hopefully we'll smoke it right the next time now we have a step by step guide...lol...I'll see how many times I can repeat without exhaling

when me and my friends smoked it, I lit up the bowl holding the carb and my friend inhaled, the smoke that he took in was so nasty that he threw up , could it be because he was sucking in for too long? I kinda think that we suck it for too long and after the 'good smoke' comes into the pipe, we keep sucking and get all the nasty stuff like ash and ****...damn, this is funny, I guess we'll get better with time, we've only smoked like 5 times, 4 out of which was all newbs...haha, and only two times was an extremely high high

Yea man...
Either you got your bong filled with some gross liquid (anything but water realy bothers me) or you just dont have a very good type of weed (possible since you just started smoking)... Welcome to the art form tho lol. Learn of your mistakes...thats what i did...not one person taught me how to smoke.

yeah what u gotta be hittin chronic. u said it was a water pipe (bong) but u never mentioned that u put water in it, i find that wierd and if it is a bong thats probably why ur friend threw up. big ass hits from the bong with no water can make anyone puke lol
