I love my headshop. Hung up neatly behind the counter is a sticker that says "ITS NOT A CRIME TO SAY 'BONG'".

That whole policy of kicking people out based on what they call something is a bunch of bull****, really. Why does saying 'bong' have to imply that what they are selling isn't for "tobacco purposes", the stance most headshops usually take...

the only reason most headshops take that stance is for an extra inch of legal protection. while it may not be against the law to say what your buying is a bong, even though legally its a waterpipe (hey, maybe it was a slip of the toungue. maybe you got confused. who knows?) if someone were to do so, its possible it would give the cops just enough evidence to shut down the headshop. a lot of headshops dont even admit theyre headshops, as theres negative connotations attached to that word. yea, they could go and use these words, and others like them, but lots of headshop owners- and the stoner customers, too- feel its not worth playing dice with.

However, if you read the end of that research it notes that this evidence is not completely conclusive, and there is more research due.

And just why is it that most peoples experiences directly contrast with the research? Myself and most other stoners I know will have you know that in our collective experience, joints seem to take more marijuana to achieve the same high. I definitely conserve my weed a lot more when I only load bowls - particularly if the glass is waterfiltered. You can flaunt your pseudoscientific findings all you want, but why do they contradict what people's actual experiences are?

On a concluding note, after smoking less than a gram of weed in the infamous Volcano vaporizer I was definitely more stoned than I've ever been off any joint. That and the fact that vaporizers pretty much eliminate all tars.

Higher Logic

In that case I ask, how long does your high last from a bong compared to a joint? Bongs get me high but it's quite short compared to smoking a nice joint. And wasting bud? My joints are only .5 at the most and I'm good to go.

Yeah, when my tolerance is lower, I can get a decent high off .5-1g joint, but once a tolerance starts developing, I need atleast 2 joints or a blunt to get to the desired point.

I will admit, when I have a couple hits in the bong, the high is more intense then the joint but maybe half an hour shorter. The thing is, if I was using the same amount in the bong as I was in the jay, the high would probably have the same duration.
