hey people, I'm going to order this hookah, and i just wanted to know if it would use water like a bong or not. I can faintly see a tube extending to the bottom of the glass base, so I'm kind of confused about it. here's the pic.

Wow, she's beautiful. I think you could put water in it! I have a hooka but it's not as nice as that. I hope you enjoy it!!

i dont really smoke budd out of a hooka....i use a hooka for the muslim tobacco shee-sha i dunno how to spell it..but yall should try it out...its this flavored tabacco in molasses..and you put it in the hooka bowl..cover it with foil and put a peice of coal on top...you get PHAT CLOUDS!!...and if you mix the shee-sha with the budds it gives you this total mellow high...

Hookahs are "water pipes" and smoke as cooled through a liquid.

Classicaly, hookahs are used to smoke "drenched" tobacco, which is shredded tobabcco mixed with other spices and herbs and thngs as well as being moistened with honeyed water or rosewater.

In terms of inebriation, the tobacco product (as tobacco is a new world plant unpopular in the Arabic world prior to 1600) was probably some other plant, most likely cannabis. Prior to the advant of Islam, in which the use of intoxicatns is not promoted and considered "immoderate and immodest behaviour" cannabis was mixed with opium and the hookah was filled with cooled pateurized wine (boiled fruit wine). If you want to try this the easiest boiled wine to find is ... Manischevitz or Mogen David, kosher wines, and at this time of year they sell for about $2 a bottle.

(PS these wines make a great base for sangria and for hot mulled wine too!)

Have fun with your hookah...be sure to wash it out with hot water after you are done and let it air dry... Oh and keep an eye out for caterpillars asking questions.

I have a four person and a 1 person hookah niether of them use water. I think of the hookahs iv seen only one used water. Mine arnt all that great looking but they do the job extreamly well, is it that only high quality hookahs use water?

Then they aren't true hookahs, they are just fancy pipes. A hookah by definition is a water pipe.

but, are you blind or just too stoned to see the tube inside of it?! it's true that the tube is a bit hidden, but it's able to see it (didn't you try to raise the bright setting of your monitor?)
