one of my friends recently told me hot water in bongs makes it better, he claims he gets higher with hot water, is this true? has anyone else heard of this?

This is not true... putting hot water in a bong won't get you any higher.

What hot water does to the smoke is kind of make it more like a steam or mist, so it's smoother going down. So your friend was probably able to take bigger hits.

ok little elves i was the friend of the zero. Now here's the getup shoop, i used hot water. I said it's better and gets you higher BECAUSE you can take bigger hits. THat's what me'sa saying. As for cold water, well i don't like it, anything real cold makes my lungs hurtl. And when you have cold air you can get bronchiotius and pnenemoia easier. So if you want to be sick, THEN USE COLD WATER. BUT IF YOU WANT THE REFRESHING FEELING OF AN 18 WHEELER RUNNING YOU OVER THEN DRINK HOT BONG WATER.

Why would you want to drink hot bong water? Keep in mind hot water filters out MORE toxins, so drinking the bong water wouldnt be very smart.

FOr me, cold water and Ice cubes are the way to go. How does it get better than that?

My local headshop has warned me that putting hot water in a glass bong is very bad for it...in fact, they advocate only putting room-temperature water in glass bongs. I personally prefer cold water & ice cubes myself -- the smoke is hot enough already, why would you want to make it any hotter? If you really want your smoke to be like mist you should just get a vaporizer. Bong water is the nastiest **** on earth -- heating it would only make it smell worse, I would think.

I think you would be able to take a better hit with cold, it only makes more sense, but i guess i could try it out and get an answer for you

Also the Countess is right, that would be very nasty, hot bong water. The only thing i do not like about very cold water is the condensation on the glass.

Here's the dilleyo. Water is the least dense (or is that most?) at approximately 4 degrees celcius (38 farenheit or so). That means that the hotter (or colder) you go, the more dense it gets, so most likely, the more crap gets filtered, but equally, more THC gets filtered out.

I never thought I'd ever learn anything useful in science class =)
