There wasn't anything there about sour bongs but from other hits on a google search it appears that "sour" isn't an adjective, it's a brand name.

Default Hi sourjohn

Welcome to the forums here at marijuana.com

As I haven't owned one of you're pieces, I can't assess Sterbo's claims of your product being "bottom line, poor quality" (although it was a bit harsh ), but if you do want to capture the hearts of our members you'd do better than to reply with "u don't know anything" (most professionals that visit this site do us the courtesy of using correct grammar).

If you are the owner of this company, let me say you have so far done poorly to convince me his declarations are inaccurate.

If I were in your shoes sour, I would come with specifications. I wouldn't just claim that a poster is ignorant, I would back up my claims with facts and specifications. He says your glass is thin (most knowledgeable purchasers and collectors will quickly back out of a purchase upon learning this), why don't you show us otherwise?

I'm not bashing you here, but seriously, we have a lot of very intelligent posters and our members come to expect a higher standard of reliability than your posts have revealed thus far.

If you are interested in maintaining your companies good name you should try and give us a reason to believe you right?

Dear Lit_Match:

Since you took the time to write a decent post, I'll reply, and I'll take care to use proper grammar, even though grammar has little to do with the quality of my products.

I am a professional glassblower with twenty years experience. I designed the twist style that I sold to the distributors of the"Zong" and inspired all the knockoffs sterbo referred to in his ignorant post.

Ignorance in itself is nothing to be ashamed of, as sterbo probably does not know my glass is 5 millimeters thick, oven fired to provided durability and plenty thick to last a long time with normal use, and that includes the glass on glass work I perform.

sterbo is not aware that most of the glass repair work I am commissioned to do regards other glassblowers' products, it is rare that I find myself doing repairs on my own work. My retailers know to contact me with complaints, I do not receive any.

My glass has been featured on the cover of High Times, Cannibus Culture and countless other periodicals and the history of my product speaks for itself. You can visit myspace.com/sourdesigns to see some of the other original Sour designs, and Lit, I imagine you know better than to believe all you read on message boards.

To paraphrase myself "sterbo doesn't know anything", he is obviously someone in my area siding with a competitor, and that is his choice. My company slogan says it concisely: "If you're not smoking Sour, you're smoking crap."

Sterbo wrote a decent post - he didn't agree with you, but that doesn't mean it wasn't a decent post.

Using proper grammar always helps. If you can't take care to use proper grammar - how do I know you will take care to blow the glass properly? I'm not saying it's right, but that's how people look at it. Myself included. It's probably a bad stereotype... but oh well.

That certainly is a great accomplishment.

Continuing to insult people with differing views, however, doesn't help your case. I understand that Sour Designs is your brain-child, and probably your lifes work - and I can see how it would be emotional to you for anyone to insult it. That doesn't mean you should insult them back. Like some famous dead guy said - Turn the other cheek.

I'm no connoisseur or aficionado when it comes to glass products, but 5mm doesn't seem that thick. Can you give me a comparison on just how thick, say, roor makes their bongs, or zong theirs?

Is there a reason you don't blow colored (designed) glass, by the way?

What does glass repair work have to do with anything?

In all fairness, you likely wouldn't repair your own glass if it's as fragile as some of the reviews I've read say it is (Shatters on slight impact).

Normally, things aren't as bad as their detractors say, and aren't as great as the people who promote them say... they fall somewhere in the middle, most of the time. I tend not to believe "shatters when you tap it" arguments, because I have seen cheap as dirt glass survive some long falls (depending on how they fall, etc).

Your photographs are set to private, which means I would have to add you as a friend before I could view your pictures. Sorry - but I don't add random people (or companies) to my Myspace friends list. Even if their glass does look nice.

Not fond of the slogan, it kind of turns me off to your stuff. It's kind of like "If it's not our stuff, it's worthless." And I can tell you that's not true - because I have a very nice bong which I'm quite sure wasn't made by you.

Also, I think Sterbo lives in a completely different state... not sure... But if someone doesn't agree with you - they're automatically just discrediting it without a valid opinion!! OF course!
