I'm really surprised there isn't more talk about RooRs, PHx's, Hurricane's, Jerome Bakers...ect on this board. I guess most people here is to po' to afford them?

I think that somtimes smal-batch/one-of-a-kind glass pieces made by small-time artists can be of superior quality for a good price.

I've had the pleasure of smoking out of both Roor and Hurricane bongs thanks to some extremely cool guys that I know.

If you buy a Roor, here is the best way to hit it, bar none. I just learned this the other day it is ridiculously smooth. This works with Roors and possibly other bongs like it where the entire stem is removeable.

Put water in the bong as normal, then fill it nearly to the top with ice.

Light as normal, inhale for a while, pull the slide out for literally about 2-3 seconds then immediately lift the entire stem (the glass tube that the slide fits into) a little bit. All you really have to do is lift it far enough to break the pressure and let air through. Works just like bongs with slides and carbs. Gets one of the coolest hits I've ever gotten in my life.

My 14" bong wasn't designed by a name brand like Jerome Baker, PHX, or Chong. It is a thick art class color changer though. Thats the important thing in my opinion. I wouldn't believe that a RooR bong is going to hit better than what I have since what I have was made by a professional glass blower. Also, if you can, buy your piece from a head shop rather than online. Brick and mortar head shops are a point of social togetherness, like a church for potsmokers. Please worship the church.

Mattacular, I think what you've just described is called clearing the bong. Maybe I'm a little confused, but why would you pull out the whole stem instead of just the bowl. I've done both, and sometimes the bowl doesn't come out due to resin stickiness and I end up pulling out the whole stem. Seemed the same to me, but maybe I'm gay.

weiisky and matt...I have NO idea what you are talking about. When I hit a bong that dosen't have a carb-hole this is how I do it...

Light green, suck, and THEN quickly pull the bowlpiece out of the bong and clear the chamber. How else do you do it? If you tried to pull the female end out of the bong i think it would ruin the air-tight seal...?

Although i bet the roor hits great, i think it's kind of lame that it says roor in huge letters down it. I would say either get a bong that is unique, or atleast colorful, or get that sherlock and watch it change colors as you put more bowls through it.

Either way you're going to end up toasted out of your mind.

Thats exactly how i do it, you take the hit nice and slow, making sure its big, and then yank out the bowl and breath in really fast, it works great, except if you time it so that you suck hard to early, you can get a bit of bong water in your mouth, but pulling the bowl out is the way to go, thats why you buy them with little handles on the side (if you bought a glass bowl for it).

That is what I do. Occasionally, I'll **** up and the bowl will stick to the stem, causing me to pull both out, but it doesn't ruin the hit. It's exactly the same, since I'm still inhaling all the smoke. The only smoke I'd miss is the stuff in the stem, which is very little.
