I'd have to disagree. Yes, $250 for a bong is a lot of money, but you have to wonder why it costs $500. If it is a very large or very wide or very high quality bong, chances are it will be worth the money. As has been said, one hit of a bong can get you higher than a couple bowls in a pipe. My RooR is so luxurious and clean. I love it and it's really the only way to travel (poor use of expression, but you understand). If, for you, $250 is a lot of money and you really can't spend that much, then don't. But if you can consider it an investment, then it might be a good value. Look at it this way: if you take good care of the bong, it will last you for a good 10 years. Since you've been hitting bongs only recently, I expect that you understand how amazing they are and that you can judge whether it's worth the money for yourself. Spending $125 is only a good idea if you plan to be with the person who you split it with for a long time or if he's willing to give it up to you if you choose to go your separate ways. In my opinion, that is.

I agree, going halves wouldn't be a bad idea. However, how long are you going to be living together? Also, buying a bong that large you risk breakage and it would certainly be a waste of money if that happened. I say get a nice bowl or waterpipe and then spend the rest on stash. Or get a nice mid sized bong, like a 1 footer and just be careful.

Well, I've been smoking a long time, I would never spend that much on a bong. Mostly because I've been through about 30 bongs. Stuff happens, your buddy knocks it over and breaks it or you break it, plus a 250 dollar bong probably doesn't hit any better than a 50 dollar bong.
It doesn't sound like you can afford it anyway. It doesn't make much sense to spend more than you have to for something that isn't going to enhance your smoking experience much, if at all. I'm sure it's a pretty bong for that price, but it isn't going to get you any higher than a 50$ graffixx type water pipe.

What im saying is, make sure the shop you are shopping at is pricing these bongs fairly. Cuz it might just be a $250 bong, with a $500 price tag....

I think if you're comfortable borrowing the money from your friend you should do it. I don't think $250 is outrageous to spend on a bong. Do you know who makes it? I've spent $450 on a bubbler and I've never regretted that decision. 50% off glass is a great deal, and I think you should take it up.

i shared a boong with my friend for year and we didnt even live together and it worked out great its cheaper, sometimes a lil complicated but there shouldnt be too many major problems. id say go for the ssplit.
