I put a screen in my bowl and I think thats my main problem.. I hardly ever get hits that make me cough hella. I think the screen has resin built up on it (I've scrapped it out a few times). But when I take the screen out and try to hit it... the bud eventualy breaks apart and falls in.. Now I understand you could just mash it and make it stay on the side.. but is there another solution??


Note: This is my first bong, but I've been smoking for like 5 years.


Any tips?!

well there are a few things that you could do...

You could go to a headshop and buy a $5 glass screen

You could pack a nuggy in the bottom

suck really slow when the bowl is almost cashed

make sure there isnt too much water in the bong, cause then it pulls harder at intervals.

mmm glass screen.. you make a good point.. if all fails I got a gravity bong and a pipe to fall back on.. Plus I always got swishers on me... but I leave those for when people match me

yo yo my fellow smoker...... I got a couple words of wisdom from my several years of bong experience... !!!

first things first....
1)I assume this is a pretty new bong.... right? pretty new can mean allot of different things depending on how avid a smoker you are... but I say... if you smoke at least once a day and you've had it for at least two weeks it is broken in. I bring this up for an important reason.... every bowl piece is made with a hole that is just a little bit bigger than you THINK you want it.... but as you smoke over time the bowl gets resin in it which makes the hole increasingly smaller. your best bet with a bong is to not use a screen at all and just smoke really slow till the hole gets small enough that it doesnt suck your bud through.
2)If you MUST use a screen than do what I do with my pipe..... every once in a while take it out and hold it above a lit gas stove with some pliars. This will burn off allot of the residual tar and **** that is stuck to the screen. This should allow you to get some phatty hits outa that biatch.

You have to replace non glass screens ever once and a while. Maybe it's time to try a new one, it couldnt hurt. I personally use a glass screen. It's easy to clean and nothing will pull through with it no matter how hard you rip it.

1.)Does the bong have a carb?
^^if yes go to step 2. If no, try pulling out the bowl and use the downtube hole as a carb

2.)Is your bong air-tight?
^^if yes go to step 3. If no, try to seal it with some hot glue or sumthing

3.)Is your bong made from cow manure?
^^If yes, stop making bongs out of cow manure

rofl.. Well today I'ma go pick up a quarter and just take the screen out and use that as my main smoking tool for this sack, hopfully this will be enough to make it suck less bud down..

Every time I see that happen a little part of me dies.. XD

Cut off the tip of a nug and use that like a cork or a bathtub stopper. Then, pile broken up bud on top of that nug. I've been bonging for a while and that's what works for me. If you don't have any stopper shaped nugs, just throw in a larger piece into the bottom, one that can't be sucked through. Once you've smoked all the upper stuff, start inhaling a little harder and pulling the flame onto the stopper, eventually just sucking it down.

I ****ed up just a little while ago and pulled a black piece through. Nice and big too.

Why dont you want it pulling through? For me and everyone I know, its normal to suck the bud thru the downstem into the water towards the end of each bowl. This way you dont have to tap the bowl empty or hit nearly cashed weed. We just hit really hard when we think its close to cashed

You do want it pulled through, but not too early, which seems to be his problem.
