Me = Definately on a budget. I'm only bringing in around $10 or so a week from odd jobs. (washing parent's car, vaccuming house, etc) So it'd be a lot easier for me to save up $30 on an acrylic that would hold me over until summer when I can get a job.

and yea, it is nice to have something unique and interesting, but there comes a point when function takes priority over form.

No, I wouldn't pay 5 dollars more for a cool looking soda. I wouldn't be using that can of soda every day of my life either, now would I? A bong (or pipe or whatever) is something I'd be using practically every day. If your question was "Would you pay 40 dollars (or whatever reasonable amount) more for a better tasting, better looking, unique glass bong that would see an unbelievable amount of use?" my answer would be yes. Hardly the same as buying a soda!

if you read the prices for the 15" acrylic and the 18" glass, the difference is 100+ dollars.

that much difference to me means that asthetics can take the back seat for awhile

Despite the actual amount, i'm sticking to my guns on this one. Go ahead, smoke your plastic bong.....I'm going to go hit my glass. End result? We'll both be stoned......and thats why we are really here right? Everyone is entitled to their opinions on this.....no use arguing a fight that cannot be won by either of us right?

Where the hell are you buying from? Sounds like a rip off to me. At my local shop you could find an 18'' glass for, I'm estimating, 60 bucks? Maybe less if you're buying other **** and ask for a couple dollars off. That sounds right to me. And it would be a double perk, nice design on the glass.

I can't talk for sdragon1984, but the state I live in thrives off tourism, and most things are very expensive, espically downtown, and that's where the only headshops are. So a 18" acrylic runs around $40, and most glass (actual nice ones, not thin slender ones) are around $100 and upwards

i wasnt looking at the local prices, as there is only one headshop nearby, and i havent checked bong prices there yet, tho judging from pipe prices, the prices are on the high end of reasonable.
thats where i got the price for the glass bong, and the 18" is 100+ more then the 15" acrylic i mentioned

Color changing? Thick? Free standing? 60 dollars for 18" sounds a little too
cheap to me. Buy one and post a picture please.
