my personal preference is Glass, with some nice ice cubes inside it and cold water, smoothest thing youll ever hit, i recently purchased a glass one for about 127$ cdn after taxes, its just under 2 feet tall and hits like a wonder of the world heh

after all thats said i know some ppl still prefer plastic over glass, i must ask WHY?

whats your preference and why

I had a plastic one for a long while. Was multi chamber, 4 in all. We used to fill the first one with ice and water, and all the rest with hot/warm water. Made for some very smooth hits. But one day when I was carrying it around in my backpack, it somehow broke. It was like a death in the family, almost. My new neat toy bong is double walled, with liquid inbetween the two walls. I just chuck it in the freezer for half an hour or so, and end up pulling smoke through a foot long frozen tube. Needless to say once the smoke reaches you, it's all nice and cooled
But glass is definatly my fav. Classier to boot.

Glass all the way. Plastic ones are ugly, hard to clean, and usually come with a metal bowl, which only makes the hit harsher. Don't know why anyone would prefer plastic, other than the cost.

If you've got the money to waste go for glass, otherwise plastic is the way to go. Get a plastic bong with a glass bowl or something.

Plastic hard to clean?.......Just swirl around some Formula 420 and my stuff is like new.....harsh hits?......I put some ice in the bottom and it hits perfect....and I have had it for ovr 4 years now....cost me 20 bucks with a Hide box hidden in the base....No chips, no scratches, and it looks cool as hell.........It is also easily portable because I can take it apart........Maybe someday when I have 100 bucks to blow and there is noth8ing important I need I will go waste it on glass......till then, plastic is just fine with me

Why hasnt anyone mentioned my personal favourite on here........... it doesnt seem like you have the option much in the States, so how come anyone hasnt mentioned ceramic bongs.......


I have been using ceramic bongs since I started toking over a decade ago, and I have tried the others and keep coming back........... nothing can get as cold, and if it a good quality one, with a nice thick glaze, I find it hits as good, if not better than a glassie.

I have only one non-ceramic piece in my collection, and that is a wooden pipe.


What are other peoples views on ceramics?

man, i have to say glass... i've five glass pieces (18" hand blown, 12" zong, 7" bubbler, 4" sherlock, 3" spoon) you can just taste the bud so much nicer i say, i used to have 2 acrylic ones, but they've gone the unfortunate way of the nosey parents. phat joints, thick sweets, and foggy hits from glass of nothing be sweet sweet bud......., blaze on.
