why do you think bongs are so good? I made one from instructions off the net and when I go to light it I have to suck mega hard to barely get it lit and by that time im outta breath (while getting no smoke at all) and then the damn thing smokes but the smoke rises and escapes!! why is this,surely this isnt supposed to happen. pic:

just buy an actual bong from a headshop instead of making one that doesnt work. a cheap bong is less than 15 bucks. or just get a pipe.

What you have built is more of a bubbler anyways. Sorry you didn't like it. Try a premade one so you can get an idea of the physics of it all before you make one, you might have better luck.

Obviously it is hard to inhale with that... if you built it according to that picture, you probably forgot the 'carb'. Put an extra hole near the top opposite the bowl, a little smaller than your thumb. Start inhaling and remove your thumb and keep going.

it may also not be air tight around the bowl. inorder to get a good hit off of it, and for smoke to fill the chamber completely, the chamber needs to be air tight, meaning no holes. my suggestion is take a hot glue gun and glue the bowl to the chamber. also, like bongzilla said, add a carb directly behind the bowl (but make sure its at least 1 inch above the water level) that way you can get a nice clean hit

you might wanna try using the bottlekneck for your mouth and putting the conepiece (or bowl..) in a tube going out the side... the bigger the mouthpiece, the more suction you can generate.

but yeah sounds like your bong aint airtight. to test it, block the bowl with your finger and suck. the sides of the bottle should get sucked in...if they dont then its leaky.

Glueguns suck for sealing bowls Well mine does, it heats up and doesnt stick to the glue anymore, hella sucks ass. Meh, I got me pipe so the bong is history soon until I get enough for a glass.

its pretty easy to get an airitight seal without putting ghetto glue and blu tac allover it, melt the hole with a lighter and push something slightly smaller than the stem into it. i have 2 widths of regular garden hose (small one for hole and bigger one for stem) and it works perfectly. or use a drill and a rubber seal thingie

before posting a topic like this... why dont you search around, and learn how to actually MAKE one correctly... or spend the 10 dollars and buy one... if you get one thats just clear glass, 1 footer... then it wont cost but maybe 10 bucks..
