I have a medical card and I'm not too familiar with pipes, etc.

Right now I have a water pipe thats probably 6 inches tall, when I take a big hit my lungs burn really bad. I've been smoking for about a week now and this burning sensation will not go away. My girlfriend also noticed the same thing, sometimes you take a hit and your lungs will burn really bad. We're using cold water too..

What type of pipe should I buy? I can't afford a vaporizer right now, but what type of pipe should I look at? I think the smoke is too hot. Preferrably something not too expensive, but I'll consider anything.

Im thinking that since youve only been smoking for a week your lungs just arent used to having smoke in them. I remember when i first started i would cough almost everytime and my lungs would hurt. You will eventually get used to it though. Maybe try buying somthing with ice notches so you can reallly cool down the smoke or just try taking smaller hits until your lungs are used to it. Oh and if its cold outside then you can smoke outside and just take in cold air after your hit...this seems to help me when im taking massive hits.

He just said that he cant afford a vape yet. So I suggest you keep smoking for at least a couple more weeks and see how you feel. Everyone has virgin lungs when they start smoking, but if its too bad, then start cooking with your marijuana. It has a deeper effect and it obviously does no harm to your lungs. Hope that helps.

Definately take smaller hits for one. Agreed also that b/c you are a newer smoker and especially if you don't smoke cigs, your lungs are tender!

I personally, put hot tap water in my bong. I like it better than the cold water as I have weak lungs. I like the humidity on my lungs. It seems to open my airways better for me, and also more soothing on all my tender parts. I was a cig smoker for 20 yrs, my lungs will start to burn very easily.

Also, maybe try getting a small glass pipe.

I realize you said you couldn't afford a vape right now, but that is definately the way to go. I got my vapor brothers vape on Ebay for 115.00. They have smaller, cheaper ones, but a vape is the best. And makes your weed last longer. Good luck and welcome to the lounge!!

different types of pipes will have different effects on the temperature/harshness of the smoke. using a metal pipe will not cool the smoke down very much and is kind of an unpleasant toke. glass is better, but bongs/water pipes will do it the best.

try using ice cold water and filling the chamber with ice cubes. I do this in my bong and it has a large effect on the smoke. Much cooler, smoother to toke.

I've heard the only vape worth buying is the volcano, they are like $500.

If I can get a really good vape for under $200, I will buy one. What do you recommend? Or maybe I can solve the problem with a different pipe? There is no room for ice in the one I have.

Check out the vaporizer section of the forum. My VaporBrothers vaporizer works perfect for me, and like I said, it was 115.00

I may never own a Volcano. I can't see paying that much for something when I have one that does the job already

The Volcano is just a top of the line vape, not the only vape. Its like having a Rolls Royce and a new Honda, the Honda is a nice car and works just as well, but the Rolls is the best of the best. I dont know of many vapes, but Ive heard that the VaporBros is a great buy.

$115 is very reasonable.

I think I'd be in a similar price range with a new glass pipe. I don't see any reason as to why I wouldn't buy a vaperbro's vape, I'll look into that, thanks.
