can anyone point me to a thread on how to make a bong out of a water bottle or powerade bottle, pretty much same thing.. and do you guys think a quarter oz is good for $80?

$220 an oz for very kind buds here but I get from a private grower. Last few batches have been NL#5

Damn, I wish I could get my hands on some NL #5 or some WW.
Anyways, pretty much now its $240 an ounce of B.C. bud as we call it. Usually dense buds with good amount of trichomes and hairs, but usually not to much of a pungent smell.

Still will get you nicely stoned, but its just not what I want.

You're pretty ghetto if you have to resort to making a bong out of a Powerade bottle......

I pay $70 for a 1/4 of real good stuff. I would suggest you save up and buy something nice, you don't even have to spend that much. I bought a 1 foot acrylic bong for 10 bucks and it does the job real well. Do try to buy a nice glass hand pipe of some kind, you'll get good use out of one.

Water bottle bongs are awesome. Portable, they consist of regular objects until you go MacGyver and assemble a powerful beast of a smoking machine, and also completely disposable. Here's my own personal recipe for a waterbottle bong that will mess you right up.

Apparatus:

- 1 water bottle, plastic 600 mL (16 oz) approx
- 1 bic pen ( just make sure you can dismantle the pen so that you are left with a tube)
- 1 sharp knife ( the sharper the knife the less dangerous )
- 2 pieces of gum
- rolling papers
- ammunition

First you have to roll a joint. It should be tight and wide enough that it will not fit inside the tube that you got from taking apart your pen. Keep in mind that the joints width is not negotiable otherwise this wont work.. so if you want less you can roll it short. Also put a big paper filter in the end which is wide enough that you can stick the joint into the pen and have it fit tightly and make sure that the weed is all outside of the tube. Once you have done that the rest is pretty simple.

Bottle prep: cut one hole roughly the size of pen tube about halfway up the bottle. The easiest way to do this is to cut an "X" into the bottle and use a lighter and use the tube to shape it. Start chewing your gum now. Cut another hole on the side of the bottle ( 90 degrees from the original hole) This is your carburetor. Your gum should be well chewed by now, with the tube fully inserted so that the end touches the bottom, seal the tube on ( This is gross but necessary unless you have a silicone tube handy). Fill the water bottle to just below the holes.

Smoking it is easy and effective. Just for those who havent figured it out here's what you do. Light the join and make sure its burning well. Stick the joint into the protuding end of the tube. Make sure that the joint will burn out before the ember touches the plastic ( I assume that would ruin your last toke but I'm not dumb enough to confirm that ). Now cover the hole with your thumb and inhale. When you feel you've had almost enough move your thumb and open the hole and inhlae the last puff. Sit back with a look on your face that says " Uh Oh I think I'm gonna be really high " (Everyone always underestimates how much they are smoking while they are doing it but when you realize your lungs are filled you know what comes next)

This design has served me well in the past and hopefully it will bring a smile to your day. The best part of it is that it costs virtually nothing and since the parts are fairly innocent they arent as suspicious as carrying around a real bong. Great to put together when you are on vacation, just dont bring the sharp knife on the plane. Or for that matter the weed. When you are done throw the smelly bastard out. Peace.
