I have just a couple questions about bongs.

1) Will the idea still work if the bowl tube is not at an agle (pic 1)?

2) How far from the bottom should the bowl tube be (pic 1 vs 2 vs 3 and 4)

3) Which angle for the bottom of the bowl's tube is best (stright like pic 1, or angle like 2's or angle like 3's)?

1) Yes, it will. It's just ugly.
2) Doesn't really matter. As long as it isn't touching the bottom. And you want enough water between the tube and the surface of the water to cool the smoke.
3) All angles are ok...

1) yes, but i also think its ugly

2) keep it about a 1/4" from the bottom

3) make it shaped more like a nice round, bulbous glass bong. hopefully it wont be as square as the pic

Nah, it's not. The way it is right now looks like this pic. Only it's ceramic, so it's not see thru. The bottom of the tube touches the bottom of the chamber, but I don't think it'll be a problem (refer to pic).

That looks cool. Next year, if i get into the ceramics class, I'm going to make a few bongs myself. I'll have to diguese it as a vase or something I guess- the school staff is a little "uptight", to say the least.

My ceramics teacher is a pot head, so I get off easy I guess. My cousin claims he smoked out with him, but I don't know. Anyway, even though my teacher's cool, he smashed some stoner's pipe. So I made mine looke like a watering can for water flowers. He bought it, too. Well at first he was just staring at it, thinking "is she making what I think she's making?" because I don't fit the teenager sterotyped stoner look. So I'm like "Oh hey. It's a watering can, do you like it?" and he like looked relieved and started going off on how great it is (he's a very positive person). I made my first "watering can" at the beginning of the semester and he's just been encouraging me to "make bigger and better ones". :lol: I think it knows what it is, though, but I've got a good excuse so he's cool.

I made a big ceramic bong once, my teacher was like "whats that" so i just said it was a teapot...he knew it was a bong but but just kept saying stuff like 'oh, hows your "teapot" going' i dunno why but i made the stem curved and it blocked one day (must have an air bubble in it or something trapped) and it never worked again...i stuck a cotton bud down there and the end snapped off :-(

it looked kinda like this pic, the hardest thing to make is the stem outta clay
