So my birthday is in 3 days and my girlfriend just couldnt wait to give me this so she whipped out this little hookah she bought for me today.

Right next to it is the pipe my mom bought me

But I've got a question, whats the little knob on the side? It screws off and theres a little ball bearing in there, I would guess it's for a second hose but Idk I've never used such a small hookah.

Might cover up the other hose outlet might let you fill/empty it. Can't say I've ever even used a hookah so those are just guesses.

Also cool pieces, the pipe looks really nice.

The part with the ball bearing is a release valve, if the smoke gets too thick or strong. open the cap and blow gently through the hose to clear some of the smoke from the body of the pipe.

Just be careful not to blow too hard or you might force water into the bowl.

You can smoke with the cap loose all the time and just blow gently and watch the smoke come out it's a trip. you shoudlnt get water in the bowl unless you fill it to much. and happy birthday

its a connector that give you the option of being able to add a second hose(you can find kits to convert it into a dual hose online) other than that it lets stale smoke escape but lets no air in cause of the bearing dont take it out and loose it like my friend did

Happy birthday, and enjoy your new pieces. Never smoked out of a hookah, so I'm no help for your question, but what the other folks have said sounds as good as anything else.
