has anyone ever stuck a light on the underside of a bong or bubbler. Im thinking about commissioning a green and purple inside out bubbler with a little notch in the base to stick a small LED or something. Like one of the color changing novelty earing ones or something. I think this would be really cool, has anyone ever done something similar with a water piece.
Another idea is to mix up some glow powder in water and smoking through it, i dont think it would be harmful.

This is a really good idea, it would make a novelty bong that would be cool to smoke out of. Batter powered of course, who the hell wouldn't want a light up bong?

I am not sure what "glow powder" you speak of, but if it is a chemical based powder that emits light upon contact with water, this is a terrible idea. You don't want to inhale the toxins in that powder.

i have seen pipes that glow in the dark.. i think they were glass and in between the glass was some kind of fluid that glowed in the dark.. they came in all different colors to.. wish i could remember where i saw them.

you can buy quantities of glow powder, similar to the shit in glo-sticks, that can be mixed in any number of mediums. My dad stocked up on some at one point. Most types are not harmful at all, even though they might smell funny, like sulpher. i think he put some in a fish tank once. and because it would be mixed with water, i wouldnt be inhaling powder, id think it would be safe. But im not an expert on it.

If it smells like sulphur, it could be sulphur. Get a glass and fill it with pool water. Take a wiff, smell the chlorine? It isn't stuck in the water.

Just because it is mixed with water does not mean toxic gases are not released. Any chemical reaction where one reactant has electrons in an excited state and the other reacts to release them as photons will end up decomposing into other more stable products. There is a good probability gases will be released as well.

I hate to ask, but did all the fish start swimming upside down after your glow powder was added?

My friend had a huge clear glass bong and he use to put glow sticks in it when ever we would be on certain off topics. It certainly made for quite the site watching someone hit that thing...

I would avoid putting the glow powder in the water, you don't know what kind of chemicals are in it (or maybe you do) but I guarantee you don't want that chemical concoction filtering/cooling down your smoke. Not only would it taste like shit probably, but there are obvious possible health effects...

As far as installing a light in a bong, its a great idea, I don't know how practical or possible, but if you get it done I want to see it.

I've seen some light-up bongs. They use LEDs in the bottom just like PurpBuffalo suggested. I would think it would be a good idea. Screw that glow-water crap. Don't smoke out of anything with crazy chemicals. Period.
