Usually I smoke from a glass pipe but the burning in my throat after is really annoying! Just wondering is it worth it to buy a "bubbler". What exactly do they do?? and can they fit in your pocket for easy access??

Bubblers, as the name suggests, bubble smoke through water to cool it and add moisture. They also capture some part of what you'd like to get into your lungs. I've seen tiny ones that would fit in your pocket, but they'd be the least effective of the breed. The deeper the water, the greater the cooling and moisturizing effect.

You might consider a vaporizer, which eliminates the harshness of smoke altogether.

one of my friends has a bubbler
its nice cuz its only as big as a pipe, but pretty much as good as a normal water bong, getting you higher, and not to mention, its better for you

I'm dying to know how a bubbler gets you any higher than a spoon or a hammer or any other sort of hand-pipe.
I can see a bong getting you higher simply because of the larger hits you get, sure... But a bubbler getting you higher?
I don't buy it...

I think you still get a bigger hit out of an average bubbler than you would out of a normal hand pipe. I honestly get more high out of a bubbler than a dry pipe, but I always figured it was the size of the hits I was taking.

I have a tiny bubbler and even though it's small, for the first bowl it's a definite difference. It's a great item to have though if it's smaller filling it up could be a pain, so if your a quick toker might nto be the best choice but it you enjoy taking 5 minutes to get things set up and just being able to chill bubblers the way to go.
