Default Ya got a link to that study?

Because it isn't as simple as that.

I'm sure you all know about the other pipe and vaporizer study that people like to refer to. But they always seem to forget about this section:
Quote:
Are Waterpipes Counterproductive?

The study results are obviously discomforting to waterpipe enthusiasts, many of whom prefer the cooler, milder smoke they produce, and have naturally assumed it is also more healthful. Unfortunately, however, the study indicates that waterpipes may actually be counterproductive in increasing consumption of carcinogenic tars.

Nonetheless, it is still premature to judge that waterpipes are actually unhealthful, since they may filter out other, non-solid smoke toxins occurring in the gas phase of the smoke, which was not analyzed in the study. Noxious gases known to occur in marijuana smoke include hydrogen cyanide, which incapacitates the lung's defensive cilia; volatile phenols, which contribute to the harshness of the taste; aldehydes, which promote cancer; and carbon monoxide, a known risk factor in heart disease. Previous studies indicate that water filtration may be quite effective in absorbing some of these [Nicholas Cozzi, Effects of Water Filtration on Marijuana Smoke: A Literature Review, MAPS Newsletter, Vol. IV #2, 1993]. If so, waterpipes might still turn out to have net health benefits.
I refer you to this thread.

I didn't have time to read everyones post in this topic. So If I repeat anything.OWELL!

Even if the bong water took out any THC which wouldn't be all of it anyway. You are getting A much larger hit than a pipe or joint. So your getting plenty of THC anyway.I don't know how you can say you don't get as high off a bong.WHen I hit a 3 foot bong I am down for the count.

i didn't read all the posts on this thread but i'm sure this has been stated...anyone who says you can't get high smoking a bong has never smoked a bong...if you lost so much thc to the water it wouldn't get you high then how has the water bong been such a widely used device for thousands of years? have the hundreds of thousands of people that have smoked out of a bong for thousands of years just thought they were getting high or something? this is an ignorant post..go smoke a bong and see for yourself

THC is lost when using a bong, but not enough that you notice or really makes a difference, no one ever said that all THC is lost when smoking with a bong and you wont get high, dumbass
