DEA's Marijuana Classification Goes Up In Smoke Based Government Study

The day after Fourth of July rarely brings this much excitement to the office. Yet yesterday, a new government supported study which was just released this month (July 3rd) in The Open Neurology Journal concluded that smoking medical marijuana not only can… but does provide individuals with the much needed pain relief they seek from their chronic conditions and lifetime of suffering. The overall conclusion of this new government sponsored study was that this plant desperately deserves – and has shown merit for more clinical trials. The purpose would be to determine once and for all, the true medicinal effect of this wonder plant. This most recent government report absolutely blows the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agencies schedule one assessment of marijuana as having absolutely no medical properties out of the water.

As many past studies have gone into great detail in showing marijuana’s overall medicinal benefits for a myriad of different human ailments, few have ever been pointed directly at the undermining the DEA’s scheduling of the marijuana plants as a useless narcotic… that has no value, thereby locking it in a schedule one status and keeping it from ever being truly tested for its medical values.

This most recent marijuana study was paid for by the state of California and the research was performed at the University of California Center for medicinal cannabis research. The CMRC is a center for higher learning… and many in the medical marijuana community are hoping that this most recent report which was government-sponsored, will be the knockout blow that the American public has been trying to deliver to the federal government, regarding the ridiculous classification of medical marijuana as a schedule one narcotic.

As most might not be aware the DEA have gone to great pains to try and paint marijuana as a schedule one narcotic. As such, marijuana – pot – weed has been classified as one of the more mind distressing substances on the black market today, and that it has absolutely no medicinal value, similar to that of acid or heroin. To hear the antiquated opinion of the DEA and their weak attempt to try and justify this ridiculous classification, one can hear them struggle with their own logic:

Schedule I Controlled Substances

Substances in this schedule have a high potential for abuse, have no currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States, and there is a lack of accepted safety for use of the drug or other substance under medical supervision.

Some examples of substances listed in schedule I are: heroin, lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD), marijuana (cannabis), peyote, methaqualone, and 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine (“ecstasy”).

The current status placed upon marijuana by the controlled substance act does nothing but create a false smoke screen and create dishonest controversy as to whether marijuana has any medical value.

When one reviews the current evidence that is available based on discoveries already done, the schedule one classification for marijuana is not viable. It’s not accurate that marijuana has no medicinal value.

  2. theres a problem with the “death caused by marijuana”

you remember the florida zombie who ate another mans face off while being allegedly on bath salts? turns out he was actually on weed…

    • Yup, because traces of THC metabolites in his bloodstream is 100% irrefutable proof that he was under the influence of marijuana at the time.

    • It was actually K2 or something similar, which is that synthetic weed. Its actually incense with some pharmaceutical chemicals added. It’s pretty much the same as those bath salts. Or that salvia D. Marijuana is the safest most natural choice out there. Grow your own that way you know where it comes from.

  3. Has anyone showed this to the American Government? Because I am so sick of hearing about how badly this country needs money, they have a HUGE money maker right here…we just need them to admit it and stop taking money from all the drug companies who want marijuana to keep being illegal so they can continue to get rich while others suffer
