Gil Drops In On The LA Secret Cup House: The Extract Artists Challenge

Cloaked in a classic Dickie style weedmaps shirt, and his pre-blazed eyes hidden behind his blackflies shades. Gil strolls up and mentally steadies himself, thinking twice before uttering the words “yeah… I’m here for the dabs.”

This was no ordinary house party that Gil was about to drop in on. Behind the inconspicuous double green doors was the epicenter of judging for LA’s secret cup. A collection of extract artists, gathered from around California, representing the best waxes, budder and shatter the Golden State has to offer to the world of marijuana concentrates.

With three days to kill, in a house filled with fully concentrated wax heads, Gil decided to queue up his own version of the “Pepsi” challenge. Would these highly skilled extract artists be able to identify their concentrates when mixed in with their competitors? While most seem confident,  a no-brainer… and that they could easily be identified. Truth is often stranger than fiction.

Of the several extract artists shown trying to identify their artwork – only a few succeeded.

About Author

Born in Long Beach, raised on the central coast: I surf, dab, burn, and blog – though not necessarily in that order. I'm a husband, a father and a lifelong consumer of connoisseur grade weed. I don't drink alcohol or consume any other "drugs." I consider myself to be living proof that weed is not a gateway drug. If it were, I'd be in some serious trouble. Instead, as a 50-year-old ex-realtor that has been smoking weed for nearly 80% of my life (just did the math) ... I can only say, marijuana is safer than prescription pills or alcohol could ever hope to be for calming what stirs the savage beast.
