High Times Cannabis Cup Gets Ready To Hit Denver Colorado For 4/20

Jesus will have some stiff competition this Easter (4/20 ) as the High Times Cannabis Cup fires up their annual marijuana party in true Mile High style. Resurrection will be the key word of the day. As marijuana’s popularity enjoy’s a rebirth around the country, High Times will kickoff its now-annual marijuana competition in Denver Colorado.

Per the HT Website, the event will have the obligatory political speakers, cultivation workshops, dope music and as always…a plethora of vendors from around the globe.

As most are already aware, last year at the ‘Cup’ was the first time people could burn out in the open, in areas designated for adults 21 and over. The end result was irie for all…except for the organizers, as the smoke circle overflowed the Exdo Event Center and took over the vacant lot next door, which High Times had converted into a semi-private pot party, complete with sick dabs of tasty concentrates and multi-pound joints. The end result was a trashed lot, some pissed off neighbors…and a new venue for this year; Denver Mart.

For those looking to go…here’s what you need to know… No selling or distributing of weed or dabs is allowed.

Saturday night’s entertainment will be dope, featuring Mac Miller and Slightly Stoopid at Red Rocks. Then on Sunday night (4/20) High Times will fire up with Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa at Red Rocks; tight venue, limited seating, get your tickets now.

…So just what is a Cannabis Cup?

It’s a two-day trade show/EXPO incorporating vendor booths in a main building with an extended outdoor component for additional vendor booths.

This year’s event will include the Cannabis Freedom Trail. Event attendees are invited to visit and sample products from Denver’s participating pot shops. Choose the best and vote for them on Sunday. The shop with the most votes wins the People’s Cup.

Inside booths range from glassware and clothing to grow equipment and artwork. Expect three seminars per day either in a sectioned off area off the main floor or in a private theater-like setting. The seminar topics include legalization regulations featuring Denver experts, current political issues, grow seminars with HIGH TIMES editors and a cooking seminar from our own Cannabis Cookbook author.

About Author

Born in Long Beach, raised on the central coast: I surf, dab, burn, and blog – though not necessarily in that order. I'm a husband, a father and a lifelong consumer of connoisseur grade weed. I don't drink alcohol or consume any other "drugs." I consider myself to be living proof that weed is not a gateway drug. If it were, I'd be in some serious trouble. Instead, as a 50-year-old ex-realtor that has been smoking weed for nearly 80% of my life (just did the math) ... I can only say, marijuana is safer than prescription pills or alcohol could ever hope to be for calming what stirs the savage beast.
