Blackberry Marijuana Strain Review

Strain Overview

The Verdict: Blackberry is a perfect 9-to-5 strain. Vanquishing daily aches and pains while muting the anxiety caused by overbearing supervisors, this stunning lady is known to relieve depression, frustration, and fatigue. Strain Profile

The Science: Loaded with potential health benefits, Blackberry enjoys a wide array of cannabinoids working in a synergistic manner. Typically tipping the scales for its total active cannabinoids at over 15.00 percent, SC Labs performed a “full spectrum cannabinoid profiling and analysis” to reveal this strain’s medicinal potential. Fluctuating based on nutrients, cultivation techniques, and the growers’ curing method, the total Δ9THC+THCA content will absolutely vary from batch to batch. That said, according to the high-performance liquid chromatography test, the average Blackberry cannabinoid profile found at your local dispensaries should maintain a similar profile. Comparatively high to other strains in Cannabigerolic Acid (CBGA), this batch of Blackberry tested at 0.16 percent GBGA.

Appearance:  Unlike her namesake, the Blackberry marijuana strain looks like the hearty Indica hybrid she is. Revered by connoisseurs, her large flared out calyxes are accentuated by her glistening trichomes and snowy glands. A mild-mannered superhero in disguise, her color and appearance flash pastel tones of purple and green.

Consistency: Encased and sheltered by the extract artist’s gold – this resinous lady requires more than a hand to shred. Provided you’re not totally ill-equipped for the task, we strongly suggest the use of a good grinder … or at least a sharp pair of scissors. Remember, wasting good cannabinoids on bad habits is expensive and wasteful.

Scent: The Blackberry strain has a soothing character that gently captivates your attention; she has an acrid sweet air with a refreshing twist, one that will remind you of a gentle spring breeze. When properly cultivated and cured, Blackberry enjoys a floral aroma with bittersweet undertones which are highlighted when agitated. Sweet, earth-ish and fruity, Blackberry barely maintains her token discretion while out in public.

Taste: Her flavor is sweet, strong and earthy. Weighing heavily on the palate for a moment before exposing her syrupy and seductive undertones, your mouth will water, your eyes will glaze and your taste buds will be delighted.

Effect: No longer stressed out, angry, or lacking focus – Blackberry instills a sense of relaxed euphoria and blissful concentration.

Strain Background: Blackberry’s name was derived from an understandable combination of parental names: a cross between the notorious Black Domina and a sweet hybridized Raspberry Cough. A Sativa-dominate hybrid, Black Domina is thought to have originated in Washington State’s Seattle area. Then, as a clone, she made the long and arduous trip to Amsterdam. In this hybridized strain, Blackberry was a union of Raspberry Cough, an Indica-Sativa hybrid of Nirvana’s ICE strain, and an old-school landrace strain hailing from Indochina.

Medical Uses: Great for mitigating nights of never-ending insomnia, the occasional bouts of lethargy, post-election depression, and of course stress and pain.

Growth and Seed Info

Note: As is true with most cannabis strains, Blackberry is extremely fond of consistency. She thrives in stable environments where temperature, nutrients, and atmospheric changes are minimal. Due to Blackberry’s slightly finicky requirements, the individual’s yield will vary based on the cultivator’s skill set, and ability to maintain favorable growing conditions.

About Author

Born in Long Beach, raised on the central coast: I surf, dab, burn, and blog – though not necessarily in that order. I’m a husband, a father and a lifelong consumer of connoisseur grade weed. I don’t drink alcohol or consume any other “drugs.” I consider myself to be living proof that weed is not a gateway drug. If it were, I’d be in some serious trouble. Instead, as a 50-year-old ex-realtor that has been smoking weed for nearly 80% of my life (just did the math) … I can only say, marijuana is safer than prescription pills or alcohol could ever hope to be for calming what stirs the savage beast.
