OR Rep. Blumenauer Fires Up Reddit AMA on 4/20

Today, on 4/20, Oregon Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D) will be answering questions on Reddit during an open form “Ask Me Anything” (AMA) Q & A.

A strong and early proponent of legalization, last month Rep. Blumenauer announced a legislative package named “Pathway To Marijuana Reform.” The Marijuana Revenue and Regulation Act, the Responsibility Addressing the Marijuana Policy Act, and the Business Tax Equity Act would “preserve the integrity of state marijuana laws,” according to Rep. Blumenauer.

High on today’s list of heady topics during the AMA will no doubt be whether or not Attorney General Jeff Sessions and the Trump Administration will crack down on those states that have legalized recreational adult use marijuana. Positive of marijuana’s ultimate legalization, the Oregon Rep. told reporters “The long-term is clear. I’ve stated and I strongly believe in five years every state will be able to treat marijuana like it treats alcohol.”

At 1:00 p.m. EST (10:00 a.m. PST)

A believer in both democracy and legalization, Blumenauer pointed to the recent outcome of the 2016 election to underscore his point that legalization is just around the corner. “Marijuana got more votes than Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.”

About Author

Born in Long Beach, raised on the central coast: I surf, dab, burn, and blog – though not necessarily in that order. I'm a husband, a father and a lifelong consumer of connoisseur grade weed. I don't drink alcohol or consume any other "drugs." I consider myself to be living proof that weed is not a gateway drug. If it were, I'd be in some serious trouble. Instead, as a 50-year-old ex-realtor that has been smoking weed for nearly 80% of my life (just did the math) ... I can only say, marijuana is safer than prescription pills or alcohol could ever hope to be for calming what stirs the savage beast.
