Ghost Train Haze Marijuana Strain Review

Strain Overview

The Scoop: The Ghost Train Haze high, like a phantom specter in the night, creeps up on its consumers and renders them nearly incapacitated. Originally cultivated and refined by the skilled breeders at Rare Dankness, this supernatural strain has passed the test of time and genetics. A hybridized cross of Ghost OG x Nevil’s Wreck, Ghost Train Haze (GTH) has gained online notoriety over the years for producing some of the most potent buds available on the market today.

The Result: A Sativa-dominant strain, Ghost Train Haze set the cultivation world ablaze in 2012 when it’s ridiculously high THC content made GTH the poster child for the “Strongest Strains on Earth.” An authoritative cut that set a high standard for elevated THC content within the world of cultivation, Ghost Train Haze’s lab results indicated a batch of flowers tested for a 2011 Denver event had over 25 percent THC.

The Verdict: Another persuasive strain for those with an elevated tolerance level, Ghost Train Haze is not recommended for the inexperienced smoker. Known more for converting those suffering lethargic energy levels into floating spirits of creativity — at least metaphorically speaking — GTH is best used as a wake-and-bake strain or as an afternoon motivator, but not for relaxing just before bedtime.

The Science: Assessed and evaluated for its complete potency profile by Analytical 360, test results indicate these Ghost Train Haze buds possessed a total THC content of 32.90 percent and a total CBD count of .25 percent. This bud is also particularly high in CBGa (cannabigerolic acid), a cannabinoid that plays a critical role in the biosynthesis of other cannabinoids. Per the 2015 lab test, these Ghost Train Haze flowers also contained a respectable terpene content of 4.81 percent — of which the Limonene terp accounted for an astonishing 4.00 percent.

Ghost Train Haze Potency Profile

Appearance: Cloaked in trichomes of various hues, this ghostly apparition appears sugarcoated from a distance. The shimmering buds of Ghost Train Haze are so named because of the eerie, almost translucent appearance. With light, minty green leaves and cream soda-colored pistils, this ghost will haunt you late into the night when ignited after sundown.

Consistency: While the plant structure demonstrates strong Sativa phenotypes during her vegetation cycle – tall and lanky – the buds produced by Ghost Train Haze are dense, rock-like nodules.

Scent: There’s a hint of Jack Herer in Ghost Train Haze’s aroma, but with a bit more citrus. Some consider there to be a menthol flavor with this strain, with little-to-no traces of its OG lineage. But for the most part, Ghost Train Haze is a sweet-smelling strain with a variety of intriguingly sour notes sprinkled throughout.

Taste: Ghost Train Haze’s flavor gives off more of a citrus taste than one might suspect – specifically during the exhale. There are also traces of floral flavors, which are particularly noticeable in the first stages of a well rolled joint.

Effect: Depending on your dosage, Ghost Train Haze’s effects will differ slightly. At lower doses, Ghost Train Haze provides a more euphoric body high, allowing for lucid thought. However, at higher dosages, she tends to produce an effect that’s a bit hazier. Ghost Train Haze will leave you in a bit of a daze if you have enough, so don’t expect to get your spring cleaning done after your third or fourth bowl.

Strain Background: Ghost OG x Nevil’s Wreck (E32 Acarta Trainwreck x Nevile’s Haze F3 Bx2). This Sativa-dominant hybrid feels like an attempt to combine all the craziest THC-producing flavors into one strain. Ghost Train Haze is a monster, coming in at upward of 20 percent THC and contending for some of the strongest herbal medicine out there.

Medical Uses: A therapeutic strain for those with chronically diminished energy levels, Ghost Train Hazes is known to inspire elevated levels of creative ingenuity after a few simple tokes. One puff, two puffs, three puffs, door … this is a great strain for starting the day off on a high note.
